Alkalinity increaser will prevent erratic changes in the pH level of the swimming pool water, in turn helping the chlorine in the pool work more efficiently. Alka-Plus raises the total alkalinity of the pool water, preventing any corrosion that could be caused by the low total alkalinity.

If you feel like you are constantly fighting your pH levels—adding pH Down one day, and pH Up the next—the problem isn't your pH. It’s your Total Alkalinity.

Alka-Plus is the essential foundation of water balance.

Think of pH as a balloon and Alkalinity as the anchor holding it down. If your Alkalinity is low, your pH will drift wildly (a phenomenon known as "pH Bounce") every time it rains or swimmers enter the water. By raising your Alkalinity with Alka-Plus, you create a "Buffer" that locks the pH in the correct range.

Why Total Alkalinity Matters

• Protects Equipment: Low alkalinity means the water is corrosive. It will eat away at metal heater elements, handrails, and pump seals.

• Saves Chlorine: Chlorine is most effective at a stable pH of 7.4. If your alkalinity is off, your pH fluctuates, and your sanitizer stops working efficiently, leading to algae growth.

• Comfort: Balanced alkalinity prevents eye irritation and "itchy" skin.

When to use Alka-Plus

Test your water. The ideal Total Alkalinity range is 80 - 120 ppm.

• If below 80 ppm: You MUST add Alka-Plus.

• Important Rule: Always adjust Alkalinity first, before you try to adjust pH. Often, getting the alkalinity right will naturally pull the pH into line.

Directions for Use

1. Test: Use a test strip to determine your current level.

2. Dose: Add the required amount (consult the label chart based on your pool size) to raise levels to at least 100 ppm.

3. Application: Broadcast the powder over the deep end of the pool.

4. Wait: Allow the water to circulate for 2-3 hours before re-testing.
