Cal-Plus - Calcium Riser 6 Kg

Raisers calcium hardness of swimming pool water.

Cal-Plus will raise the calcium hardness in swimming pool water. Cal-Plus is completely soluble in water and it is safe to swim in the the water immediately after application of Cal-Plus.

The "Skeleton" Support for Your Swimming Pool

We often think of soft water as a luxury, but for a swimming pool, Soft Water is destructive.
When pool water lacks Calcium (Low Hardness), it becomes aggressive and "hungry."3 It will try to find calcium wherever it can—usually by eating it right out of your concrete/plaster finish, causing pitting, etching, and rough surfaces that are expensive to resurface.
The Cal-Plus 6 Kg Pail is your bulk defense against this damage.
By raising your Calcium Hardness to the ideal range (200 - 275 ppm for plaster pools), you "satisfy" the water's hunger, preventing it from attacking your surfaces and your metal heater components.

Why the 6 Kg Bulk Size?

  • Spring Start-Up: Fresh fill water (from rain, snow, or the hose) is often very soft. You often need several kilograms of product just to get the pool balanced in the spring. Small bottles won't make a dent.
  • Cost Efficiency: This bulk pail offers a significantly lower cost-per-pound than buying small spa-sized bottles.
  • Storage: The heavy-duty pail keeps the product dry and ready for the next season.

Crucial for ALL Pool Types

  • Concrete/Plaster Pools: Absolutely critical. Without it, your smooth plaster will turn into rough sandpaper as the water dissolves the surface.
  • Vinyl Liners: Low calcium causes liners to lose their elasticity, leading to wrinkles and premature aging.
  • Heaters: Prevents the copper heat exchanger from corroding and leaking.

How to Use (Bulk Application)

1. Test First

Calcium Hardness doesn't change often (unlike pH).4 Test it at the start of the season.

  • Ideal Range: 175 - 275 ppm.
  • Do NOT Overdose: Unlike other chemicals, Calcium doesn't evaporate. If you add too much, you have to drain water to lower it. Always under-dose and re-test.

2. Application

  • Dissolve vs. Broadcast: For this bulk product, we generally recommend pre-dissolving it in a bucket of water before pouring it into the pool. This prevents the granules from sitting on the floor and creating a "hot spot" that could fade your liner.
  • Heat Matters: Calcium dissolves much faster in warm water.

3. Swim Immediately

Cal-Plus is safe. Once mixed in (give it 30 minutes of circulation), the pool is safe for swimmers.
