Alkalinity increaser will prevent erratic changes in the pH level of the swimming pool water, in turn helping the chlorine in the pool work more efficiently. Alka-Plus raises the total alkalinity of the pool water, preventing any corrosion that could be caused by the low total alkalinity.

Think of your pH level as a balloon, and Alkalinity as the anchor holding it down. If your Alkalinity is low, your pH will drift wildly (a phenomenon known as "pH Bounce") every time you add water or use the tub. By raising your Alkalinity with Alka-Plus, you create a chemical "Buffer" that locks the pH in the correct range.

Why Total Alkalinity Matters

• Protects Equipment: Low alkalinity water is acidic and "aggressive." It will eat away at copper heater elements, pump seals, and even damage the wood in cedar tubs.

• Saves Chlorine: Chlorine and Bromine are most effective at a neutral pH (7.2 - 7.6). If your alkalinity is off, your pH fluctuates, and your sanitizer stops working efficiently, leading to cloudy water.

• Comfort: Balanced alkalinity prevents eye irritation and the "dry skin" feeling often associated with acidic water.

When to use Alka-Plus

Test your water weekly. The ideal Total Alkalinity range is 80 - 120 ppm.

• If below 80 ppm: You MUST add Alka-Plus.

• Important Rule: Always adjust Alkalinity first, before you try to adjust pH. Often, getting the alkalinity right will naturally pull the pH into the correct zone.

Directions for Use

1. Test: Use a test strip to determine your current level.

2. Dose: Add the required amount (consult the label chart based on your spa size) to raise levels to at least 100 ppm.

3. Application: Turn on the jets and sprinkle the powder over the water surface.

4. Wait: Allow the water to circulate for 20-30 minutes before re-testing.
