pH Down - pH reducer 3 Kg
Lowers the pH of swimming pool water
The Bulk Solution for High pH & Alkalinity
Balancing water chemistry is a constant battle. If you own a swimming pool or use your hot tub frequently, buying small bottles of chemicals gets expensive fast.
The pH Down 3 Kg Pail is your "Pro-Grade" supply. It provides the same premium Sodium Bisulfate granular formula you trust, but in a larger, longer-lasting bucket that saves you trips to the store.
The "Lazy Chlorine" Problem
Did you know that High pH is the #1 reason your water turns green or cloudy?
- The Science: Chlorine is highly sensitive to pH. At a pH of 8.0, your chlorine is only about 20% effective. You are literally throwing money away because the chlorine is "sleeping" on the job.
- The Fix: By using pH Down to keep your levels in the "Sweet Spot" (7.2 - 7.6), you "wake up" the chlorine, making it 5x more powerful against bacteria and algae.
Symptoms of High pH (Alkaline Water)
If you notice any of these signs, you need pH Down immediately:
- Scale Buildup: Rough, sandpaper-like deposits on your pool walls or hot tub jets.
- Cloudy Water: Water looks milky despite having chlorine in it.
- Red Eyes & Itchy Skin: High pH naturally irritates human mucous membranes.
- Chlorine Smell: Ironically, a strong chemical smell often means your pH is wrong, not that you have too much chlorine.
How to Use (Pools & Spas)
For Hot Tubs:
-
Pre-Dissolve: Since this is a strong granular acid, always dissolve the required amount in a plastic bucket of water before pouring it into a Cedar or Acrylic tub. This prevents undissolved granules from sitting on the bottom and bleaching the surface.
For Swimming Pools:
- Broadcast: You can usually broadcast the granules over the deep end of the pool with the pump running.
- Dosage: Start small. It is easier to add more than to fix a pH crash. Wait 2-3 hours for the water to circulate before re-testing.
Add to pool when pH is high. Proper pH balance is an essential part of pH maintenance. The recommended range is 7.2 to 7.8. If the pH of your pool is high (above 7.8), the water will be alkaline and the chlorine is prevented from doing its job since it "combines" with other materials in the pool water. The existence of this phenomenon is usually detected by a strong chlorine odor not found when the pH is in balance. The water tends to be cloudy and eye irritation may develop. Scale build-up may also begin to occur.
