Proper pH balance is an essential part of spa/hot tub maintenance. The recommended range is 7.2 to 7.6. If the pH level becomes to high, the water will be acidic. Discomfort to the skin and eye irritation can develop. High pH levels also cause sanitizers such as bromine and chlorine to combine with other materials in the water and become less effective. Test water levels regularly to ensure proper pH level.
