Cedar is also naturally resistant to decay and can work off-grid with wood-fired heating. In 1993, University of Wisconsin research found wood surfaces killed bacteria within 3 minutes – faster than plastic equivalents.

Yes. With electric, gas, or hybrid heating systems, your tub maintains temperature year-round. Wood-fired tubs should be drained after each use in freezing conditions unless you add an auxiliary circulating pump and 1.5kW heater.

It depends on your setup. Wood-fired heats faster (2-4 hours) and works completely off-grid, but requires firewood and attention. Electric is set-and-forget with digital controls, heating in under 12 hours. Gas and hybrid options split the difference. We help you pick based on your power access and how you'll use the tub.
